These shorts are about 20 mins long with sound unlike alot of other Laurel and Hardy titles that were silent from the 20's. These ones are sure to bring you out in a fit! Laurel and Hardy's shorts, first made by Hal Roach and released through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, were among the most successful around. Most of the shorts ran a couple of reels (10 minutes per reel), although several ran three reels long, and one, Beau Hunks, was four reels long. In 1929, they appeared for the first time in a feature as one of the acts in The Hollywood Revue of 1929 and the following year they appeared as the comic relief in a lavish all-Technicolor musical feature entitled: The Rogue Song. This film marked their first appearance in color. Considered a "lost film", only a few fragments of this production have survived, along with the complete and utter sound track. In 1931, Laurel and Hardy's first starring feature was released, Pardon Us. Following its success, the duo made fewer shorts in order to concentrate on longer films.

Laurel and Hardy have brought humour to the world for decades now and their innocent comedy style is something no one can find fault with.

I have had this box set for over a year now and it is a must buy item. It has 16 DVDs categorised for easy finding on what you want to watch. Each DVD has it's own theme on Laurel and Hardy. A lot of the movies and shorts are available on the DVDs to watch in black and white or restored colour versions which i find excellent. So it will suite whatever laurel and hardy scenes you like

Laughter, laughter, laughter. When you watch Laurel and Hardy enough you will begin to appreciate that you aren't just watching classic actors but two absolute geniuses who's expertise in comedy as a duo has been unparrelled ever since. There is nothing more satisfying than having this box set. You have the complete work of two legends available readily to sit down to, watch and laugh. If ever in a bad mood watch this dvd it is excellent.

There are no special effects in Laurel & Hardys work that are like modern movies but when they use them, they are applied perfectly such as their hats floating above their heads. They pull off many stunts too, all extremely humorous.

This is a definte recommended buy. It is easily stored and each DVD comes with a description printed on it which explain everything about every movie from the storyline, to the studios. The DVDs also include their individual silent comedies. So get your Laurel and Hardy dvd here whilst stocks last.
